‘Lily’ remembrance bear, made from My Mums clothes

This is ‘Lily’ The first remembrance bear I made from my Mums clothes.  I had kept a bag of clothng belonging to my Mum after I sadly lost her to cancer, in 2011.  I had seen Memory bears on websites in the USA I though they were a wonderful idea, so I kept the bag for nearly two years until I thought the time was right.  One Monday morning in October of 2012 I decided to make Lily.

I used with two dressing gowns two cardigans, a jacket and am underslip, not surprisingly these was lots of pink involved  (My Mum’s favourite colour) she took me a couple of days to complete but I was delighted with the end result.

Lily was made by a traditional method using buttons to create moving joints.

There was lots of hand sewing involved and I finished her off with letter beads sewn on her arm.
