Choosing the clothes for your memory bear or cushion
Choosing the Clothes for your Memory Keepsake
Above all, its the memories that count!
The old threadbare cardi your Dad wore when gardening, the dressing cosy gown your grandma wore for cuddles on the sofa. Or the outfits worn for special occasions like weddings or holidays. or a mix of all of these special garments that each tell a story, its completely up to you. Clothing worn on favourite photos is lovely to use too. Clothing can tell such a tale, and evoke wonderful memories.
Here is a rough guide to help you choose.
For memory bears I would recommend 1 to 3 items of clothing. Shirts, tee-shirts, cardis, jumpers, nightwear, fleeces, dressing gowns are all great. (Leather and suede cannot be used as they are too thick.) Something plain and light coloured for the face, so the eyes and mouth stand out. Something patterned, checks and florals are great, something textured like a jumper or cardi, then maybe a bright colour for the paws and ears, these will all look wonderful together. If you are unsure I can advise please email me. info@lilyslove.co.uk
For memory cushions, 1-2 items of clothing, shirts cardis fleeces and dressing gowns looks fab as cushions. I can use 2-6 for the patchwork style.

How much are your memory bears?
My most frequently asked question!
“How much are memory bears?”
It’s one of the most common questions I’m asked, and understandably so!
When you’re choosing a maker to look after something as precious as your loved one’s clothing, you want to be sure you’re making the right choice.
That includes understanding the price.
So, how much are memory bears, and what are you really paying for?
My Prices
Let me start with the part you’re probably here for: at Lily’s Love, memory bears start at £100.
That might be a little more than some others you’ll see, but let me explain why…
A Reflection of Time, Quality, and Care
Lily’s Love was born out of a desire to bring joy and comfort to those wanting to hold onto the last pieces of their loved one.
My priority is always to create high quality bears, built to stand the test of time and be a unique representation of those we’ve lost.
There’s no generic shop bought template here. No batch processing or factory sewing.
My prices reflect the love, care and expertise that goes into each bear I create.
Time and Care in Every Stitch
Each memory bear takes several hours to create, including the time spent preparing, planning the layout, and carefully working with your clothing.
Every seam, paw, and feature is sewn with precision, to bring out the best in your chosen fabrics while keeping the bear structurally strong.
Additional Materials That Make a Difference
Beyond the clothing you provide, each bear is lined in cotton interfacing, includes high-quality stuffing, thread, and eyes, chosen to ensure your bear stands the test of time, and is a beautiful, huggable keepsake for years to come.
All pattern pieces are lined in cotton interfacing and firmly stuffed to ensure they hold their signature shape.
Every bear’s handsome face comes hand embroidered with a happy smile.
Traditional button joints allow you to pose your bear however you’d like, and help them sit, completely unaided, wherever they find themselves a home.
Designing Around Meaningful Details
Every bear is unique, and that means that each one takes individual planning.
The placement of fabrics is an essential part of the process.
Some of the most personal elements, like patches, pockets, buttons and ribbons, require extra time and care to incorporate into the piece. Then there is the professionaly embroidered names and dates to truly personalise your bear.
I know how to highlight those little things that matter most, while making sure the final bear still looks beautifully balanced.
Over 10 Years of Specialist Experience
I’ve been making memory bears for over 12 years.
That experience means I know how to handle fragile fabrics, preserve sentimental details, and craft something built to last.
You can be confident that these precious items are in safe hands.
I’m also here to guide you through the emotional side of this process, whether you’re local or posting clothing from further away[1] .
Why It’s Worth Getting It Right the First Time
Sometimes I speak to people who have had memory bears made elsewhere, only to be disappointed.
Sadly, once your loved one’s clothes have been cut and sewn, they can’t be unpicked or redone. That chance to turn them into something beautiful is often lost.
That’s why I believe in taking the time to get it right, with the highest quality materials, expert craftsmanship, and the sensitivity your memories deserve.
Your bear will be firmly stuffed, beautifully finished, and built to last.
What You’re Really Paying For

It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
